You're in a barber's shop in winter. There's a grapefruit on the counter, a tin of spiced biscuits, and a bottle of lavender tonic by the mirror. The opening is bright and spicy: grapefruit with cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom. Lavender comes through next, clean and a little sharp. The base is darker, with woods, licorice and patchouli, and Haitian vetiver. Vetiver is a tall grass, and the oil comes from its roots, which are dug up, washed and dried before they're distilled. Haiti is one of the biggest producers in the world. Haitian vetiver tends to smell smoky and slightly nutty, and it gives this scent its dry, earthy finish.
How to use
Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck and behind the ears. Let it dry down; don't rub. Keep away from eyes.
