Open the spice drawer in an old wooden dresser. Cardamom pods, a stick of cinnamon, a pepper grinder, and under them all the smell of the drawer itself, cedar and old tobacco. That's this scent. Cardamom opens it, cool and a bit like eucalyptus. It's the seed pod of a plant in the ginger family, grown in India and Guatemala, and it's one of the most expensive spices you can buy. Cinnamon and black pepper come next and make things warmer. The base is cedarwood and patchouli with dry tobacco, rounded off by vanilla. Good for autumn, a wool coat and a long walk home.
How to use
Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck and behind the ears. Let it dry down; don't rub. Keep away from eyes.
