477, Inspired by Oud Ispahan

A dimly lit room with heavy curtains, a bowl of dark red roses on a wooden chest, and smoke from a burner in the corner. This scent is built on just three notes. Oud comes from agarwood trees in Southeast Asia. When the tree is infected by a mould, it fights back by producing a dark, fragrant resin in its heartwood. That resin-soaked wood is what gets distilled, and only a small number of wild trees ever form it, which is part of why oud has always been so prized. Here it's paired with Damascus rose, which makes the oud feel softer and jammy. Patchouli grounds both with an earthy, slightly chocolatey edge.
