A spice market at dusk. Stalls are packing up, someone is burning incense, and the air is full of cinnamon and cardamom. The opening is bright mandarin with a lot of spice: cinnamon, cardamom, saffron and white pepper. White pepper is the same berry as black pepper, picked when ripe and with the dark outer skin taken off. It smells cleaner and a little less hot, almost floral. The heart is labdanum, white incense and ambergris, resinous and warm, like smoke caught in a heavy curtain. At the very bottom is oud, dark and woody, holding everything up. A scent for evenings, when you want something rich.
How to use
Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck and behind the ears. Let it dry down; don't rub. Keep away from eyes.
