An old dressing table: a powder compact, a dish of violet sweets, a rose in a glass, and a little carved wooden box. Violet opens it, powdery and soft, with Damask rose following. Violet flowers give almost no usable oil, so the violet smell in perfume comes from molecules called ionones, first made in a lab in 1893. They smell powdery and slightly woody, and some people find their nose tires of them quickly, so the scent seems to come and go. The base is oud with a vanilla amber accord and benzoin, woody, warm and sweet. A good choice if you like soft, powdery florals with some depth.
How to use
Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck and behind the ears. Let it dry down; don't rub. Keep away from eyes.
