966, Inspired by Oud Wood

A cabinet maker's workshop. Wood shavings on the floor, a tin of cardamom pods on the bench, and the smell of polish. Rosewood, cardamom and pink pepper open it, bright and slightly spicy. Rosewood oil comes from a tree that grows in the Amazon. Most of its smell comes from a molecule called linalool, which is also found in lavender and coriander, and that's why it smells fresh and floral for a wood. The heart is full of woods: oud, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli. The base is tonka and amber, sweet and warm. It's a good one for learning how different woods smell when they sit side by side.
